Invited to hold activities at the Chong Tak School

On 20th April, instructors from the Healthy Life Education Programme of the Social Welfare Bureau were invited by Chong Tak School to hold activities on its premises to enhance the students’ understanding of the effects of alcohol on the human body. The activities were tailored to fourth-grade students, where the instructors made use of a display of alcohol contents to explain to the students that different alcoholic beverages contain varying levels of alcohol. The instructors explained that upon alcohol consumption, the alcohol circulates throughout the body via the bloodstream, affecting bodily functions and would cause both short-term and long-term effects on the body. The students participated in the Q&A and the interactive sessions with great enthusiasm. “Harold”, the mascot of the Healthy Life Education Programme, showed up at the final part of the day’s event, joining teachers and students in their physical exercises, where everyone was energetic and having fun. Approximately 150 teachers and students participated in the activities. At the end of the day’s event, students were gifted a beautifully illustrated picture book to encourage them to read it with their parents, which would enhance the communication between parents and their children, contributing to the cultivation of shared healthy habits.
