A large-scale family activity, “The Anti-drug Full Participation of Harold Fans Club”, held by the Social Welfare Bureau on July 27, 2013 in response to “The International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking” was successfully completed. Vong Yim Mui, the Deputy Director of the Social Welfare Bureau, remarked that “Harold Fans Club” has successfully recruited more than 1,600 members since it was founded by the Healthy Life Education Centre in 2007. She declared that the students can learn more about the advantages of healthy living and the dangers of drug abuse through the continuation of extra-curriculum learning activities. Meanwhile, students can take the initiative to deliver the messages of healthy living to their families and friends and hence further expand the positive influence of the programme in the community.
The activity took place at Cineteatro Macau at 10:30 in the morning, in a total of some 500 people including mainly the members of “Harold Fans Club” and their parents participated. An interactive drama, “Grinning Harold, Happy Show” and the song and dance performance by “Double M” were staged on site. Besides, the organizer invited the Macau pop singer, Siu Fay being the ambassador of the Healthy Life Education. He sang the theme song of the activity, “Love Is There Everyday”, together with the representatives of the members of “Harold Fans Club”. The song was aimed at bringing out a key message: a happy childhood is the very essential foundation of life. Only under a harmonious family atmosphere and parents’ careful nurture can young people develop positive value and outlook on life. Therefore, even when they face temptation, they can still say “No” to drugs.
